ZENITH
““Zenit – the history of an artistic passion” is a story of the destiny of Ljubomir Micic and the avant-garde artists in the first decades of this century that mostly ended their lives in tragic circumstances. Zenithism is an oath, clear and loud of a new man, of a new age, of creation, of art, of youth. Zenithism means: not to live out of duty, but out of inspiration. [1994]
Angels or spirits of the Death visit the aged Micic and take him to their ‘dance’ which represents his whole life. Through the existence of Ljubomir Micic “Zenith” deals with the fate of avant-garde ideas in ex-Yugoslavia as well as in Europe. The internal title of this performance is – The History of the Passion.
In Chinese opera, a young actor puts on a beard in full view of the audience and becomes an old man or takes an umbrella and becomes a geisha. In this play, the actress becomes Marc Chagall, wearing blue socks, while the next moment, dancing barefoot, she becomes the actress Maga Magazinović. Other “angels” who come from these “dark times”, opposing the ruling currents are: Mayakovsky, Ve Poljanski, Moni de Buli, Marinetti. In the end, these ghost angels leave to enter someone else’s life story, leaving behind a girl with a ball and an elderly Micic who said NO to all times.
