The play is inspired by the memories of Yugoslavia, the memories of young people who did not actually live in it.

From any relationship that has a history, intimacy is inevitably born. Even conflict creates intimacy. With this play, we wonder where that intimacy goes after parting. We take the past as the cause and the present as the consequences. We look at the past from the present perspective. Who knows how many times we conclude – “maybe we ended up with the past but the past did not end with us.” Nostalgia no one can take away, it belongs to everyone.

Second Act: FAREWELL

Four actors go through the ritual of FAREWELL through the characters of Mother Serbia, the Risen Earth who had the sea, the One Who Believes, and the Sacrificed Son. What is it that needs to be sent, in order for the new and different, and maybe – better, to be welcomed? How to get out of the vicious circle of our cursed heritage? Have we sent enough sons and daughters to “fight for our people”, or to some distant country where a better life is possible? It’s time to get ready for happy welmcoings, there were a lot of farewells.
