ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM
AIR
Artists from all the different disciplines (directing, acting, scenography, dance, multi-media art, music, writing, etc.) as well as their groups, collectives, troupes from all parts of the world are invited to apply. We support national, age, gender, and disciplinary diversity in our candidates. Both individual and group applications are encouraged.
The concept of Residency is created in order to foster an international exchange, as well as to encourage its participants to understand and work in new creative environments. The goal is to stimulate creativity through direct contact with professionals from DAH Theatre, but also local associations, audiences, artists, cultural institutions, curators, art historians, and others, in order to deepen the interpersonal understanding and cultural exchange between the residential creators.
We provide support for artists and offer them time and space in which they can develop their work, meditate and experiment with their practices, vision, and methods.
We help our artists in residence to become a part of the contemporary art scene, both locally and internationally.
A residency can be used to develop projects, to research concepts, and test the feasibility of artistic and technical ideas (such as audiovisual elements of post-production), both in rehearsal process and in fully developed performance.

When I was offered to work with DAH Theater, and after three summers in their school, I found myself again and again among dedicated artists of great experience and political enlightenment. These three qualities emerged in the main already in my first entrance to their theater in 2009, and are probably responsible for the reason I feel at home every time I come. Great passion, love, and knowledge lives in the work of this group, as well as in the range of their discussions in which I continually found myself: European politics, engagement and the great necessity of art; gave me the imperative not only to spend more time in their circle but also to share my work with people who inspired me so much.
